3 Tips to Boost Your Metabolism

Weight loss can be a daunting journey but we all have to start somewhere.  Sometimes it takes a few baby steps before making the full commitment to starting your own or a professional weight loss program.

If you’re trying to lose weight, you’ll want to work with your body to optimize your results.  3 simple ways you can do that include:

1. Start your day off with a glass of lemon water and a pinch of cayenne pepper, cinnamon or ginger. Water is essential for every cell in the body and lemon helps to clean your liver, stimulate your digestive organs to prepare for food consumption and prevents the accumulation of fat.  Cayenne pepper, cinnamon and ginger are all warming herbs; they increase your metabolism by increasing your internal body temperature.  Essentially, all three of these herbs kick start your metabolism! Cayenne pepper helps with constipation and detoxification, cinnamon stabilizes blood sugar levels and helps with cravings and ginger helps improve digestive functioning including bloating, indigestion and heartburn.

2. 30 minutes is all it takes every day to help boost your metabolism and help you burn fat.  Low to moderate intensity is a great starting place and should be a mix of cardiovascular activity and weight training.  The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn per minute.  For the ladies – having more muscle doesn’t necessarily mean getting bulky.  Increased muscle mass = getting toned!

3. Sleep in cool temperatures. We are always burning calories throughout the day, even when we sleep.  Studies have found that sleeping in a room that is between 63-66 degrees Fahrenheit  (17-18 degrees Celsius) not only helps burn more calories but helps burn more calories from fat.

Weight loss can be difficult if you suffer from a slower metabolism or diagnosed Hypothyroidism.  These 3 tips will surely lead to results.  Rememeber, small changes make BIG differences!
